The eFront FrontInvest products are built on a technology platform that leverages the latest innovations and designs to deliver robust, scalable and user friendly applications. The platform is adaptable; it can be used to meet the needs of the largest, most sophisticated global fund managers and is also appropriate for use by small, regionally-focused investment firms and limited partners.
The FrontInvest technical infrastructure leverages an Oracle or MS SQL Server database, an application server platform based on Microsoft .NET, and offers a 100% web-based interface for end users. Because the end-user interface is entirely web-based, project implementations and deployments are much easier and less costly to support and maintain versus solutions which require software to be installed.

FrontInvest is 100% web-based, and is designed to be compatible with nearly any existing environment.
Advanced User Interface
FrontInvest offers a well-designed UI in the style of modern web-based applications. Users are able to design their own desktops by dragging and dropping Web frames specific to FrontInvest or to other applications, RSS feeds and other Web-based gadgets. Users can also communicate directly with one another through the product’s “wall” which can be used to track comments and notes for major objects in the system such as a Deal, Contact or Company.
Flexible, Modular Architecture
The FrontInvest architecture is modular, enabling clients to begin with a best-of-breed packaged solution and then to add other product modules to meet their unique requirements.
Embedded Excel and Word Capabilities
FrontInvest offers embedded integration with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word. This powerful capability enables clients to leverage existing models or document templates directly within FrontInvest while simplifying the import and export of data.
In addition to embedded integration, eFront offers a Microsoft Excel add-in for users to query and manipulate FrontInvest data from within an Excel spreadsheet.
Integrate with Microsoft Outlook
Users of Microsoft Outlook™ can use the FrontOutlook add-in to directly access data in FrontInvest. Contacts, appointments and emails can be sent to FrontInvest without requiring the user to leave Outlook.
Business workflow management enables organizations to define and manage business processes and workflows within the application. A variety of workflows are supported such as for managing a deal through the investment cycle, business transactions, and a cash flow approval processes.
FrontExcel Add-in is an innovative way for users to access FrontInvest data, such as that organized by the Query Builder, from directly within Excel. Within Excel, users can refresh the data, ensuring that they are using the most current data. They can then further manipulate and format data for any kind of reporting need.
FrontInvest can access a schedule to automatically launch the execution of a data import or an export of information out of FrontInvest for use by another system or one of FrontInvest’s many reporting facilities.
The FrontInvest security model leverages access control and user rights via granular user profiles. Other security features include the definition of “regions” within the system to segregate data from different users, single-sign-on (SSO) requirements, VPN integration and SSL integration.
eFront’s technology is flexible and can be delivered on-premise, hosted or even provided as a SaaS offering.
